Internet Use Policy

Policy for using computers and the internet.

Daviess County Library maintains a Public Library Certification of Compliance according to Statutes 182.825 and 182.827 RSMo-Public Access Computer Access by Minors. Filtering software is in use for all PCs used by minors in the library. Our internet usage policy establishes measures to restrict minors from gaining access to material that is pornographic to minors, as determined by community standards. 

Per our policy, a parent or guardian must provide approval before a child under the age of 18 will be allowed to use the internet computers. Parents are advised to supervise their children's internet sessions and must be in attendance if the child is under the age of 14.
